Club History

The Connecticut Ultimate Club began its existence as a 4-team co-ed summer league in 1996.  As the years have gone by, the league has just completed its 19th Summer League, with a league population near 350 players!  Click here to read more about the history of CUC.   Click here to see a list of past Summer League champions.

Club Management

CUC is run by an elected Board of Directors. Click here to see the current Board.  In addition to the board, there are numerous club member volunteers, who often assist in small things such as merchandise, parking, etc.

Area Served

Summer league serves a population spanning nearly the entire state.  While a majority of players hail from the I-91 corridor between Hartford and New Haven, some travel from the Fairfield, New London, Torrington and Storrs areas to play in our league.

Our primary fields are the pristine greens of the Winding Brook Turf Farm in Wethersfield (just south of Hartford).  We have been playing here since 2004, primarily thanks to the wonderful generosity of the WBTF owners.  We highly value our good relationship with the turf farm, knowing how wonderful these fields are and how hard it is to find centrally located fields such at these in Connecticut.  We stress to all our players that this is an operating business, and we must respect the fields and our access to them.  As a result, we have a both a strict wet-weather cancellation policy, and a strict set of parking rules at these fields.

We have additional field locations in Wethersfield, Cromwell, and Cheshire, and owe a great deal of thanks to the Parks and Rec departments of each of those towns for their support!

League Timeframes

Our primary league is summer league, which runs from early June to early August.  Additionally, we organize a fall league (Sept-Nov), and two winter leagues (Jan-Mar). Click on any of the links on the left toolbar for more information on any of these leagues.

Summer League Tournament

Bar none, the best day of the year to be a CUC member is on tournament day, at the end of summer league.  The entire league gathers to play a one-day tournament to determine the season champion.  The atmosphere is festivious, culminating with a finals game in which most of the league spectates and heckles.

High School Ultimate

CUC supports Ultimate at the High School level through the Connecticut High School Ultimate League (CTUL).  The league consists of schools throughout the state and serves to facilitate scheduling and four Spring tournaments.
