2013 CT Summer League Registration Now Closed

Another season of 340+ registrations!  The work now begins for the CUC board to parse registrations, check self-ratings, and get ready for the draft.  Captains will draft teams on Wednesday May 29th.    Players will learn their teams and schedules shortly after that, with the first games being played on June 3.

Any player filling out a registration form or completing payment after the deadline will be added onto the waitlist, but this is no guarantee of playing later in the season.

Logo Contest!

Deadline: March 28 (if you need additional time send a quick email to the email address below)

Requirements: Please remember that the logo will be printed on shirts and discs using one or two colors, on both a colored and a white background. Designs which don't work well with this scheme have little chance of winning the contest. The design must include the words "Connecticut Ultimate Club" or "CUC" somewhere on it. The logo must also include either the year "2013" or mention that this is the 18th season for the Summer League. The design must be your own work. You are welcome to collaborate on the design, but the reward will be split between the collaborators.

Reward: The winning designer will receive free registration for the summer league as well as a free shorts with the CUC perma logo (fiveultimate jersey material). If the design is a collaboration the collaborators will have to decide who gets what.

When do we play? 

Games are Monday and/or Wednesday at 6:30 pm until dusk, between June 3 and August 7.  Each team will have about 4 weeks of games on both days, and other weeks in which you only play one of those days.  Players who may miss games are still encouraged to play, just please properly note your availability on your registration so that captains pick balanced teams.

The end-of-season tournament will be held on Saturday, August 10th.  Rain date either August 11th or August 17th.

 

Where do we play? 

Games are located in several locations in central Connecticut, in Wethersfield, Cromwell, Cheshire and Wallingford.  See our Field Locations page for maps or all our field sites.  We will be returning to Winding Brook Turf Farm in 2013, and will announce more on that specific field location as the season approaches.

How much is the cost? 

Registration fee for 2013 summer league will be $90.  Non-USAU (www.usaultimate.org) members will also be required to pay $15 towards liability insurance.  This $15 will grant the player "affiliate membership" at USA Ultimate and will cover your liability insurance requirement for any CUC event during 2013. 

Please note!  If you played in a CUC winter league, then the insurance fee paid for that league has now covered you for summer league too.  You should therefore pay only the $90 fee.  The registration fee includes a league shirt and disc.

  

What else do I need to know? 

  1. Beginners' Skills Clinics will be held at dates and locations TBD.
  2. Recruiting Incentives - Recruit 2 new women to Summer League and receive your registration FREE!
  3. Free shirts and discs to all registrants!.  Teams shirts will purchased from 5 Ultimate, and each team will be a different color.  Shirts will be delivered to teams sometime in late June.

About CT Summer League

CUC Summer League is the largest recreational Ultimate Frisbee league in Connecticut.  Play occurs over 10 weeks in June-August, culminating in an exciting final tournament.  The league attracts both high level, all-star players to complete beginners.  Players register and are drafted onto balanced teams.

Our league features co-ed and men's divisions that run side-by-side at the same field sites.  This allows players seeking either experience to play and to also see their friends in other divisions.
